Oklahoma City Museum of Art, Oklahoma

Known as OKCMOA, the city's art museum in Oklahoma City, OK, fills a downtown visual arts center bearing the name of Donald W. Reynolds. It mixes traveling exhibitions with works from its own collection and runs a film theater and a restaurant. Its highlight is a Chihuly glass collection counted among the most complete anywhere, crowned by a 55-foot glass tower in the atrium. Close to the old road, it is an easy cultural stop in the capital.

What is Oklahoma City Museum of Art?

The museum has several sides. Galleries show changing special exhibitions that travel between museums, alongside pieces drawn from the museum's own holdings. A theater screens foreign, independent and classic films every week, and there is a restaurant on site.

The glass is what most visitors remember. The museum owns a very large collection of Chihuly glass, and its centerpiece, the Eleanor Blake Kirkpatrick Memorial Tower, rises 55 feet in the atrium.

Visiting Oklahoma City Museum of Art: tips
