Ludlow, California

Ludlow is a small desert community in San Bernardino County, CA, sitting right on the old road where it meets Interstate 40. Records date the settlement to 1882. The newer part of town serves interstate traffic, while the older ghost town remains stand along historic Route 66. It is a practical place to refuel on the long Mojave crossing and a good starting point for nearby ghost towns.
