The Warner Bros. Museum is a studio museum on the Warner Bros. lot in Burbank, CA, about 4.6 miles off the old road. Opened in 1996, it fills about 7,000 square feet with costumes, props, animation cels and letters from the studio's film and television history. Visits happen as part of a studio tour, making it a treat for movie fans reaching the end of Route 66.

What is Warner Bros. Museum?

Its other name is Warner Bros. Studio Tour Archive, and it is the only studio museum among Burbank's film businesses. Everything in it relates to Warner Bros., from wardrobe and set pieces to the drawings used in animated cartoons and personal letters from the studio's past.

History of Warner Bros. Museum

The museum and the Steven J. Ross Theater were built on the site of an old film vault near Brownstone Street, which was taken down in 1995. The museum opened the following year. Many of the items came from the estate of Jack M. Warner, and archivist Leith Adams gathered the pieces for public display.
