Hooker, Missouri

Now a ghost town, Hooker lies in Cullen Township, MO, right on the old road in Pulaski County. It grew up on a newer alignment of Route 66, one that skipped the older route through Devils Elbow. That stretch is now Missouri Supplemental Route Z. Today the only trace of the town is the Hooker Cemetery, where many former residents and local families lie.

What is Hooker?

A post office served Hooker from 1900 to 1955. The name came from a Mr. Hooker, who first owned the land the town stood on. Federal mapping records still list it as a populated place.
