The 66 Super Service Station is a restored, non-working 1930 service station in Alanreed, TX, a village of a few dozen people between McLean and Groom. Bradley Kiser built it on the corner where Route 66's first alignment, used from 1926 to 1936, swung west at the end of the Jericho Gap, and when the highway moved onto Third Street the station was still on it. It was a Texaco and closed in 1982.
What is 66 Super Service Station?
A tan-brick station with a red tile roof, green trim and '66 Super Service Station' lettered along the canopy. The building carries the notice 'Built by Bradley Kiser 1930'. It was restored around 1993 and is looked after by the Texas Old Route 66 Association, which had newly restored vintage pumps installed in April 2026.
