Chicken Boy is a 22-foot fiberglass statue in Los Angeles, CA, standing in the Highland Park neighborhood. In 2010 it received the Governor's Historic Preservation Award from Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. It sits about 1 mile off the old road, and for Route 66 travelers heading into Los Angeles it makes a quick, offbeat photo stop and a reminder of the giant roadside figures that once caught drivers' eyes.
What is Chicken Boy?
The figure is made of fiberglass and rises 22 feet above North Figueroa Street. Big figures like this were a familiar sight along American highways in the Route 66 era.
