Miz Zip's

Miz Zip's is a small roadside diner in Flagstaff, AZ, on East Route 66 on the city's east side. It has fed Route 66 travelers since the early 1950s, and homemade pie is its best-known item. The menu centers on American diner food: breakfasts, burgers, steaks and pie. Flagstaff's tourism office lists it among the city's Route 66 stops, next to the Museum Club.

What is Miz Zip's?

A 1950s postcard called it the Home of the Zipburger, 2.5 miles east of Flagstaff on Highway 66, under a tall sign for steaks, breakfast, hot apple pie and Zipburgers. It was once part of a small roadside stop with a Texaco station and a motel, run by the Leonard family. A Zip Burger is still on the menu.

Visiting Miz Zip's: tips

It sits right on the old road, so it is an easy stop on the drive through east Flagstaff. Leave room for pie, and add the Museum Club, another Route 66 stop in town.
