The Modern Auto Court in Albuquerque, NM, is a tourist court from 1937 on Central Avenue, the original Route 66. Today it goes by Nob Hill Motel. Four one-story buildings in the Southwest Vernacular style make up the property, which earned state and National Register listings in 1993. It is one of only a handful of tourist courts from before World War II still standing on New Mexico's stretch of Route 66.
What is Modern Auto Court?
A small pre-war motor court of four low buildings, all counted in its historic listing. Its value lies in survival: few tourist courts this old remain on the New Mexico stretch of the route.
