The Oatman Drug Company Building is a two-story false-front building on the east side of Oatman, AZ, dating from 1915. Over the years it has held a restaurant, a drug and general store, medical and professional offices and a bank. It is one of the few buildings left from Oatman's boom years, and it is listed on the National Register for its role in town commerce, including Route 66 business.

What is Oatman Drug Company Building?

The building measures about 120 by 30 feet and has two stories behind a tall false front, the classic look of a western main street. It sits at the east end of town, close to the rock pillar known as Elephants Tooth. Restrooms are on site.

History of Oatman Drug Company Building

Oatman boomed from about 1913 to 1934, and this building went up in the middle of that run, in 1915. A fire in 1921 destroyed many of the town's buildings, so the survivors from those years are few. The listing, added in 2006, recognizes its long use by local businesses, including those that served Route 66 travelers.
