Boundary Cone is a rocky promontory in the foothills along the west side of the Black Mountains, near Oatman, AZ. It stands about 4 miles southwest of Oatman, above the Mohave Valley, with Needles to the southwest and Bullhead City to the northwest. For drivers on the old road near Oatman, it is one of the landmarks that frames the approach to the mountains.
What is Boundary Cone?
The cone is a geologic promontory rising from the foothills on the west side of the range. It lies about 12 miles east of the Colorado River in Mohave County.
Visiting Boundary Cone: tips
There is no visitor site; this is a scenery and photo stop from the road. Oatman and the Durlin Hotel are each about 3.5 miles away, and Sitgreaves Pass is about 5.3 miles off. Pull fully off the road before stopping.
