Deep Creek Hot Springs

Deep Creek Hot Springs is a group of natural hot springs in the San Bernardino National Forest, close to Apple Valley, CA, on the desert side of the forest. The springs lie about 13 miles off the old road, so this is a proper side trip rather than a roadside pull-off. Near Victorville, it offers Route 66 drivers warm water and open country instead of neon and diners.

What is Deep Creek Hot Springs?

These are natural springs, not a built resort or spa. They sit in the northern Mojave Desert part of the national forest in San Bernardino County, not far from Hesperia.

Visiting Deep Creek Hot Springs: tips

Plan this as a longer outing, not a quick photo stop, and read the Forest Service rules before you set out. Carry plenty of water, since this is desert country. Other natural stops close by include the Ord Mountains, about 3.6 miles away, and Horsethief Canyon, about 7.6 miles away.
