Santa's Village

Santa's Village in Skyforest, CA, near Lake Arrowhead, is today an outdoor adventure park called SkyPark at Santa's Village, about 10 miles off the old road. The new park opened in December 2016 on the grounds of the original Santa's Village, a family amusement park that ran from 1955 to 1998. For Route 66 travelers with children or a soft spot for mid-century family attractions, it is a fun mountain detour.

What is Santa's Village?

The park sits in the Skyforest area of Lake Arrowhead, in the mountains above San Bernardino. It is built around outdoor activities rather than classic rides, but it keeps the Santa's Village name that generations of families remember from the old park. There are restrooms on site.

History of Santa's Village

The first Santa's Village opened in 1955 and welcomed visitors for more than four decades before closing in 1998. The grounds then sat quiet for years until the new park opened in December 2016, giving the site a second life with a different focus.

Visiting Santa's Village: tips

Plan several hours if you want to take part in the activities, and check the park's website for its schedule, since mountain parks can change with the seasons. Robert Brownlee Observatory is about 2 miles away, and Deep Creek Hot Springs about 7.3 miles.
