The Lovin & Withers Investment House is a native-stone Craftsman bungalow in Kingman, AZ, about a third of a mile off the old road. Contractors Lovin & Withers built it around 1914 as a rental during a period when the town was growing. Today it serves as a local lawyer's office. For Route 66 travelers exploring Kingman on foot, it is a good example of the stone houses that give the town's older streets their character.

What is Lovin & Withers Investment House?

The house follows the Bungalow/Craftsman style and was built with native stone. It looks very much like two other houses on Pine Street, a sign that the same builders used a favorite design more than once.

It is a working office today, not a museum.

History of Lovin & Withers Investment House

Lovin & Withers acted as both builders and owners here. They put up the house around 1914 as an investment, renting it out while Kingman was growing. Later it became office space for a local attorney. A 1985 survey of 63 historic places in Kingman reviewed the house, and it went on to earn a National Register listing.

Visiting Lovin & Withers Investment House: tips

Since it is a private office, view it from the sidewalk. The Lovin and Withers Cottages, which carry the same builders' names, are about a tenth of a mile away, as are the J. M. Gates House and the Raymond Carr House.
