The Phelps Country Estate, near Carthage, MO, took shape from about 1900 to 1904 and lies about 4 miles off the old road. It was added to the National Register in 1983.
What is Phelps Country Estate?
The estate is more than one house. Around the marble residence stand a well house, a caretaker's cottage, a carriage house, a workshop, a silo and a large barn, all counted as part of its historic setting.
