Boegel and Hine Flour Mill-Wommack Mill

The Boegel and Hine Flour Mill, better known as the Wommack Mill or Grove Mill, is an old grist mill in Fair Grove, MO, about 8 miles off the old road. Built in 1883, it is a tall timber-frame building clad in upright boards, with a pair of round concrete silos beside it. The mill kept working until 1969 and joined the National Register in 1986.

The mill stands two and a half stories tall, framed with heavy timbers and covered in upright boards. Next to it rise two cylindrical grain silos made from concrete mixed with gravel from local creeks.

Together, mill and silos show how grain was stored and ground in a small Ozark farm town.

History of Boegel and Hine Flour Mill-Wommack Mill

Builders finished it in 1883, and it stayed in business for more than eighty years, finally shutting down in 1969. Over the years it has carried three names: Boegel and Hine, Wommack, and Grove. Its National Register listing came in 1986.
