It joined the National Register in 1982 and stands only a stone's throw from the Wallace House.

What is Ploger-Moneymaker Place?

The house is a frame dwelling whose two wings meet in a T. Its porch wraps around the front on round columns, and a bay rises the full two stories with moulding for decoration. Those details give a simple farmhouse shape a more dressed-up look.

The house also goes by a second name, Aambler, which shows up in its historic records alongside the two family names.

History of Ploger-Moneymaker Place

The home dates to about 1870, making it more than 150 years old. It earned its National Register listing in 1982, two years before its neighbor, the Wallace House, did the same.
