The J. W. Danner House in Sayre, OK, is one of the oldest buildings in town, put up around 1905 by one of Sayre's first landowners. What makes it special is the material: triangular concrete blocks made on a block machine, a method not seen before in the area. The house sits about 4 miles off the main route, a short walk from downtown Sayre.
What is J. W. Danner House?
J. W. Danner built the house for himself, then used it as the pattern for several other buildings in Sayre made from the same triangular blocks. That gave the town a building style found nowhere else. The house was listed on the National Register on March 13, 2002.
