Robertsville State Park, Missouri

Robertsville State Park lies along the Meramec River in Robertsville, MO, about 5 miles off the old road in Franklin County. Its 1,225 acres hold a campground, a boat launch, picnic shelters, a playground and two hiking trails. For a Route 66 traveller west of St. Louis, it is a practical place to camp for the night or break up the drive with a walk in the woods.

What is Robertsville State Park?

Robertsville is an unincorporated community, and the park takes up a large piece of riverfront next to it. The facilities cover most outdoor needs: a place to put a boat in the Meramec, shelters for a picnic, a play area for children and a campground for an overnight stay.

Two marked trails, Spice Bush and Lost Hill, lead into the woods. There is wheelchair access at the park, and a group camping area sits within it.

History of Robertsville State Park

The land once belonged to Edward James Roberts, who arrived in the area in 1831 as a 14-year-old. It became a state park in 1979.

Visiting Robertsville State Park: tips

Allow an hour for a short walk and a picnic, or plan on a night if you are camping. The park suits families with children thanks to the playground. Nearby, the old settlement of Calvey is about 5.3 miles away, and LaBarque Creek Conservation Area and Pacific Palisades Conservation Area are each about 6.1 miles off, so a nature-focused afternoon is easy to build around this stop.
