Calvey is a ghost town in Franklin County, near St. Louis, MO, right along the line of the old road. Also spelled Calvy, it was a small community with its own post office from 1854 until 1908. Its name most likely came from Calvey Township. Nothing of it is recorded as standing today, so it is a name on the map rather than a sight.
What is Calvey?
Calvey is what historians call an extinct town: a community that once had a name, a post office and a place on the map, but no longer exists as a settlement. The post office, listed under the spelling Calvy, opened in 1854 and closed in 1908.
