Cities Service Station

The Cities Service Station in Afton, OK, is a small gas station built before 1933 and listed on the National Register in 1995. What made it unusual was simple but practical: it offered restrooms, with separate entrances for men and women opening on the outside of the building. It sits in Afton, about 5 miles from the main line of the old road, close to the Afton Station Packard Museum.

What is Cities Service Station?

Restrooms were not a given at gas stations of its era, and outside doors for each sex were rarer still, which is why this station is remembered.
